The Art of Procrastination
It's October 27th and a month and half into fall and I'm just now writing a blog on fall scents. This should have definitely been put out at the beginning of September, but hey (shrugging shoulders) that's the art of procrastination!
Our business Abba Bath and Candle Care has been making candles for 2 ½ years now, every single year we tend to be late on the fall candle scent trend. This year was different, we now have two retail spots where we sell our candles. That meant we had to work twice as fast, so when August came rolling around we put on our grind faces and started to get to work.
Hello Pumpkin
Hello Pumpkin. This was the name of the first pumpkin candle we made this fall. We tried to be a little creative this year with different vessels. Creativity ALWAYS comes with one to many problems.
This year our problem was…the fact that they didn't come with a top or lids (face palm) and without lids came the dust which made them less desirable. That's when we had to think of something to not ruin the rest of our candles. Pinterest and I are besties that's twin for real! All I had to do was plug in what I wanted. I found that other makers started to cover them with cardstock tops that also doubled as branding, and the boom shah bang problem is fixed (mic drop).
Bourbon Butterscotch
Bourbon Butterscotch was a candle we have had for as long as we have been open, this is the OG’s of OG’s ifykyk. BB belt aka Bourbon Butterscotch. To be honest at first I didn't like this scent one bit, but my father liked it and surprisingly it was one of our top sellers so we kept it. When thinking about what scents to make next this wasn't at the top of our list, keep in mind you have to do a little market research and this wasn't on the 2023/2025 roster lineup. So when it became our top seller I was stunned.
